Choose a Facebook widget for website pages

A Page display is planned to expose allowed Page content or an entrance to the Page. A single-post embed refers to one item. A messaging entrance starts a distinct conversation route. Do not assume one supplies the others.

This guide does not treat Facebook reviews as part of the task. It also does not provide a personal-profile scraping route. A public Page link can be a useful complete answer when an embedded display is not established.

Check Meta support and Page visibility

Use the Meta Page-plugin documentation with the account that manages your Page to check eligibility and available controls. If the route requires sign-in, confirm access there before changing your site. An old plugin tutorial cannot establish that your Page is eligible.

Inspect the current official instructions available to the Page owner before installing. Confirm the Page, its visibility and the supported display control. A successful sign-in does not by itself establish permission to republish every item on the Page.

Keep the distinction between visible content and licensed reuse. Do not copy posts, images or review text into a homemade “feed” when the official route is unavailable. A normal link preserves the destination without claiming a live embedded connection.

Use the official route where available

If Meta now offers an embed control for the planned allowed Page or post, use the code from that control. Keep required source attribution and links. Do not paste another website's code, which can find a distinct Page or an old setup.

Check the current website platform's code permissions. An HTML block may permit simple markup while restricting a script. Use a supported placement and keep the previous page setup for rollback.

For a hosted widget, inspect the named vendor's current help for Facebook support and its permitted source route. Elfsight is a widget vendor to assess. Check the exact Facebook display you need. Support for another network does not prove that route.

Check the Facebook widget for website use

Add the feature in a limited page section first. Explain why the Page content is useful there. Avoid replacing key service details with an external display that some users cannot load.

Open the live page while signed out. Confirm the planned Page or post and the destination of its links. Check a phone layout and keyboard navigation. If the display opens an overlay, verify the close control.

Record where the code was added. A site-wide script and a page-level embed can overlap. Keep one planned route so removal does not depend on searching every template later.

Inspect what the real external display loads and keep the website's privacy explanation aligned with it. A user may block or decline an optional service. Preserve an ordinary Page link and normal contact details.

If the display is blank, find the layer: source access, vendor connection, website code permission or browser blocking. Do not declare a network outage without a dated official status source. Do not respond by repeatedly pasting distinct historical snippets.

If the current official route cannot be established for your Page, use a plain link. That is an honest fallback, not a simulated feed. Label it clearly so the user knows it leads to Facebook.

Alternative display options

Use a normal website gallery for files you own and may publish. A source link suits content you want users to read on Facebook. Choose a single-post embed only when the current source permits it.

For Instagram, see the feed embed guide. For a network-by-task comparison, use the social media widget reference. Network permissions and features should remain separate rather than merged into a universal social-feed claim.

Name the exact Facebook destination

A business Page, a personal profile and a single post are different sources. Copy the intended destination from the source itself and check it while signed out. Do not assume that a familiar display name identifies the right Page.

If the supported embed route cannot be confirmed, publish a labelled link to the correct accessible destination. Keep the business's key contact and service facts on the website. A visitor should not need to log in to Facebook merely to learn how to use the business.

Review that link when the Page name or owner changes. A working old address may lead somewhere that no longer represents the website.

FAQ

Does a third-party widget give permission to copy posts?

The vendor's feature claim does not remove the source's rights or terms. Inspect the exact supported route and required credit. If the display cannot be established, use a link or material you have rights to publish. Do not scrape a Page to imitate a feed.

What if the official documentation requires login?

Treat the account-specific details as not checked until the approved Page owner checks the current official route. Keep a useful Page link in the meantime. An old public tutorial is not evidence that every control, permission or access rule remains current.
