What a Trustpilot widget can display

Trustpilot's official TrustBox overview describes its website display product and notes that some widgets require paid plans. Use the widget choices available in your own account to identify which layouts your plan permits.

A compact score display and a layout showing review text serve distinct content tasks. Choose the one that gives users useful context on that page. Do not select solely by the amount of visual emphasis it can occupy.

Keep the source identity clear. A Trustpilot display is not a collection of original website testimonials. Keep the official source credit and links. Do not copy stars or review text to imitate that design.

Check account and plan entitlement

Sign-in and installation should be done by the approved account owner through the official business service. Confirm the correct business profile. A site editor's access to page code does not prove authority over the source account.

Inspect the TrustBox layouts available in your account and their plan requirements. Trustpilot's Free-plan guidance describes a Review Collector widget. Do not treat that collector as proof that every review-display layout is free.

Leave numeric or layout limits unverified until the current account and help establish them. This guide does not invent a price, user review count or plan scope from an old screenshot.

Get the official embed

Use the current Trustpilot Business website-widget route for the chosen allowed widget. Generate the code for the correct profile. Follow the current official installation guide rather than copying another website's source.

Keep required scripts and markup together as the vendor instructs. Do not remove branding or source links to imitate a custom testimonial panel. If the chosen layout does not fit, choose another permitted layout or a normal profile link.

For a single-page app or another specialist environment, inspect the vendor's guide for that route. A static-page snippet and an app's dynamic rendering can need distinct connection steps. Do not assume one code sample covers every site.

Place and verify the Trustpilot widget

Confirm your website plan permits the required code. Add the display in a useful page section and keep the previous setup for rollback. Record whether the script is page-specific or site-wide.

Open the live page while signed out. Check the planned business profile, source links and readable attribution. A display with the wrong source can look polished while failing the task.

Use a phone to inspect long text and controls. A carousel should not make the review impossible to read at the user's pace. Keep a clear source route and avoid using only hover to reveal details.

Use a keyboard through the widget and any popup. Confirm the user can leave the display and return to the page. A small review panel should not become a trap between the main content and the next action.

Attribution, refresh and privacy

Keep Trustpilot's official display and approved brand assets within its current guidance. The widget-placement guidance says to check the plan and use official widgets and approved assets. A copied design is not the same route.

Check the current refresh behavior for the chosen widget. Do not promise that every new review appears instantly or that a chosen display contains every opinion. Source records can change independently of a website cache.

Inspect the real external script behavior and keep the site's privacy explanation exact. Visitors can block or decline an optional external display. A normal Trustpilot profile link and key business content should remain available.

When the display is wrong or absent

Identify whether the issue is the source profile, widget plan scope, script placement or browser state. Check the live page and the vendor account separately. Do not replace the display with copied review text while presenting it as live.

If a source record is disputed, use Trustpilot's supported process rather than silently changing the quoted opinion. If the wrong business is connected, correct the connection. Those are distinct problems and need distinct fixes.

Removal and replacement

Remove the known page markup and any script no longer needed under the vendor's instructions. Check the public result. A site-wide script may serve more than one display, so understand its use before removing it.

Handle account access, data and any paid plan separately. Removing website code does not prove that a plan ended or source records were deleted. Preserve any needed business details through the supported account process.

When to compare other review routes

Choose the review source your customers actually use. A Google review widget and a Yelp display have distinct terms. Do not use one network's permission as a substitute for another's.

Use the review widget reference to separate displaying, collecting and private feedback. A plain profile link can be enough when the current display plan scope does not support the task.

Choose a display for the page's task

A compact source link may be enough on a small page. A longer review display can fit where the text helps explain a service. Choose the smallest permitted layout that preserves useful context.

Then check that the current account allows it. Another site may use a different plan. Its design does not prove that your account includes that widget.

Keep collection and display separate

A button asking someone to write a review has a different destination from a panel showing past reviews. Open each link from the public page and check its job. If the account includes only a collection route, use that route honestly. Do not style it as a live summary of opinions the page does not display.

Check businesses with more than one location

If a business has several locations or profiles, write down which one the page represents. Follow the widget's source link and compare that profile with the page's service and address. The brand name alone may be too broad a check.

Keep the connection tied to the intended profile when copying a page or changing its heading. If the account cannot supply the needed display, use a clear source link while the account owner checks the official options.

Continue with the right task

FAQ

Does a free account include every TrustBox?

No such assumption is supported. Trustpilot says some widgets are paid, and its Free-plan guidance describes a Review Collector route. Inspect the current account's available widget choices and terms before placing it on a public page. A collector and a review-display layout do distinct jobs.

Can I build a copy using screenshots?

Do not treat a copied design or review screenshot as an official live TrustBox. Rights, attribution and freshness remain separate issues. Use the current permitted widget or a normal source link rather than implying the copied display has an active source connection.
